병풀추출물byeong-pul-chu-chul-mul
On a Korean label: 병풀추출물 = Centella Asiatica Extract — Cica, gotu kola (시카).

What it is

An extract of the whole centella plant (Centella asiatica), called 병풀 in Korean and gotu kola in English. It is the ingredient behind “cica” (시카), the soothing line almost every Korean brand sells.

On a Korean label

Look for 병풀추출물 in the ingredient list. Products that use the leaf water instead list 병풀잎수. The word 시카 on the front is marketing; the list tells you which part of the plant is inside.

Korean rules

The Korean ingredient dictionary lists no limit, label caution or functional-ingredient status for it.
